Susan Rainwater Jasper

Susan Jane Rainwater was the youngest of the 11 children born into the large farm family of George Alfred Rainwater and Permelia Susan Garner. She was born on December 30, 1889 in Pulaski Co., Kentucky. Named for her mother, she appears to have gone by Susie all of her life.

Around 1917, Susie married Thomas Jasper of Casey County, Kentucky. The couple had five children: Robert L., born 24 Apr 1918; Vernal, born 14 Jul 1919; Eugene, born 1 Jan 1923; Roy Jason, born 11 Jul 1924; and Susie Thomasene, born 18 Apr 1933.

Susie Rainwater Jasper died on 28 Aug 1974 and was buried in Birdie Russell Cemetery, Windsor, Casey County, Kentucky, with her husband.

This photo purchased from Ebay in 2002 from the estate of one of the descendants of Susie’s brother, Charles Elliott Rainwater. It is now in the collection of Susan Chance-Rainwater and R. Steven Rainwater.
